Fuckin plonk

Post by theraven1979 »

Just looking at this thread and this one and thinking about suitable ale for the Easter weekend in particular wine. What do people recommend in the way of plonk?

Out tomorrow night with work and I'll be drinking Strongbow kindly paid for by our manager for having exceptional parts sales during the first quarter.
Don't usually drink much but when it's free it would be rude to say no.

Plus I'll need cheering up as I'm going to a funeral in the afternoon. :(

Emski's currently recommending Fiordaliso Pinot Grigio £11 for three in Wine Racks 3for2 promotion if you want white.

I'd go for a St Emillion Grand Cru meself

.........or Guiness 8)

There's an offer on the Stella at Sainsburys right now.

I've just been to Tescos to get some supplies in for a couple of events we're going to this weekend and came across Greene King's "The Beer To Dine For" - it comes in 750 cl bottles and was about £1.69 a bottle - I would guess it will be similar to their IPA, which is mighty fine although not up to Abbott standard (I use to play Sunday football for a team sponsored by the brewery and we were called Abbott Athletico FC - Cambridge correspondents may have heard of them!).

As for the vino - I like Aussie Reds myself and picked up a couple of bottles of "The McQuigan Gold" Shiraz, half price (£3.99).

I'm looking forward to the weekend!!

Fuck me!! I've just read what I put and I sound like an advert for Tescos!! They can give me Jimmy feckin Naill's money if they get any takers as a result!

Just to even it up, I usually get wine from Morrissons and beer from the corner shop!

Sorry Tescos, I don't want to become your corporate tart!!!

So as far as reds go people seem to favour the Ausies?

Just picked up a couple of cheeky reds for the weekend at a fiver a bottle I'm really pushing the boat out this week!

Had a nice 10 year old Rioja this evening.

I prefer Rioja's over the Aussies....
