RADIOHEAD TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT:
RADIOHEAD PLAY LIVE IN THE UK IN MAY.
A SELECTION OF NEW MATERIAL WILL BE DEBUTED ON THE TOUR.
EUROPEAN, AMERICAN AND CANADIAN DATES ARE ALSO CONFIRMED.
Radiohead will be touring the UK in May, playing a short series of theatre
shows before heading off on an American and Canadian tour in June. The
group then play some European dates before headlining the V Festival in
Chelmsford and Stafford in August.
The tour will be the first opportunity to hear a selection of brand new
material that the band has been working on in the studio. The group are
still working on new songs and it is possible that they will release one as
a download-only single.
The band said today: We're excited to be touring again, especially to play
new songs to an audience. For the first time, we have no contract or release
deadline to fulfil - it's both liberating and terrifying. To keep things
more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in
progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited
about it, rather than wait months for a full-blown album release. Music's
not just about all-time greats - it's also a document of its time, and we
want to be able to put out a song when it feels right.
As previously announced, Thom and Jonny will headline a Friends of the Earth
benefit show at Koko in London on May 1. This kicks off a period of live
activity that will see the group play the UK, the US, Canada and Europe,
culminating in their headline appearance on August 19th at the V Festival in
Chelmsford and on August 20 at Stafford.
The full list of dates reads:
Friday 12th May Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
Saturday 13th May Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
Monday 15th May Wolverhampton, Wolves Civic
Tuesday 16th May Wolverhampton, Wolves Civic
Thursday 18th May London, Hammersmith Apollo
Friday 19th May London, Hammersmith Apollo

me too! With a passion. The most over-rated band ever! I hate their name, their lead singer, his whiny voice, their songs.....my god they are mind-numbingly dull
'O.K. Computer' is one of the most annoying pieces of utter drivel I've ever had the misfortune to listen to

Well not wishing to go along with everyone else and being an individual I will say that I LIKE Radiohead!
I think The Bends & OK Computer are their best work.
I think their music is fantastic and the guitar playing of Greenwood & O'Brien is rather quite good, I like the textures and different sounds they come up with, quite inventive. Tom Yorkes voice does get on my nerves a bit though but as I said it's the music that I like.

I've got to admit, up until about a month or two ago I would have been with the rest of you on this one, but I've got to go with Arthur.
I liked the 2nd and 3rd albums, but lost interest after them. Started listening to some of the newer stuff recently (got it durt cheap on ebay one bored afternoon at work) and quite dug it fo a while.
Remember- The Stranglers were once dubbed "Punk Floyd"!
