For me, his last great album, so far...
Yes, a great album. Also, loved Dig Lazarus that followed. Push the Sky Away has really grown on me as well.
I think Lazarus and Sky had a lot of good songs, just mibbe not like the albums before then. When Mick Harvey left, for me
they were never the same, especially when Warren Ellis came more and more to the fore. Obviously the terrible tragedy around
Nick at this time blew a massive personal black hole into his life. His eventual recognition of it as a ground zero moment no doubt
re-shaped a lot of things in his life, from then on. Including, I'd imagine, his song writing.
Who knows? I've been a subscriber to his Red Right Hand emails since the start and he has continued to be a dignified inspiration to a
lot of people, regarding many things, including loss, mental health issues, bereavement, big stuff like that. Nick Cave, today,
is now more than just relevant, it's just, I dig the old tunes better.
Common problem, round these parts, I've heard 8)
...I'm making lists of all the people I love,
and all the cunts that should fuck off...

Some good tunes on the new Noel Gallagher album.
None of which sound like Cigarettes & Alcohol.
“Pretty Boy” & “Council Skies” in particular.

Jaz Coleman/Killing Joke - The Raven King

Honestly, I just do not get Killing Joke.
Saw them a few times around the “Love Like Blood” period.
A lot of power, but couldn’t hear the tunes.

Any suggestions of some good songs , that aren’t the aforementioned or Eighties?

Their more melodic tracks are on Brighter than a thousand suns so maybe that's a good starting point?

I would suggest the self titled first album "Killing Joke" This album is a bit more standard to what you might expect a lot more space in the songs not so orchestrated and frantic.

Songs like Complications,Wardance ,primitive, the wait and change are as about as melodic you can expect to hear from them. I would also check out Lets all go from the album fire dances.
Pssyche is my favourite song and that's a good one to listen to probably on a compilation somewhere as it was never on an album.

There music live started off being more primitive rhythms using those rhythms and beats to try and cause and build up a frenzy, obsession and sort of trances bringing out the primitive man if you believe that sort of thing rather than have melodic tunes.

If you don't like eighties though it sounds like they are not the band for you really.
