Lads cap next to me in front of JJ, start of Toiler
Lots of twangy western sounding geetar!!!
Well, that Allhy Pally vid was like nothing I'd ever heard from Hugh before, but since I never saw him with the Stranglers, I guess that makes sense. :smt102 Twangy western, who'da thunk!
Does anyone remember when he stopped prowling round the stage and started with the hunch shoulders and stand like a statue by the mic situation?

This? Was that a good gig? I know I had the dvd of it but I doubt I was able to sit through it. I prob couldn't even make it work. I found dvds very confusing. I just switched the youtube vid of Toiler off half way through as it sounded AWFUL!!!!! Lots of twangy western sounding geetar!!! But it sounded out of time and off key. Yuck. Is that why people badmouthed JE ?!?!?!?!?!??! Was it him making that noise?!?!?!? No wonder Hugh ran away after that. Ugh. Talk about outrageous.
Yup that’s me lol …. Quite enjoyed the gig tbh, only watch The Strangs though …. Good venue as well and travelled down there again last year for Frank Turners 3000th gig 8)

I did like the way Hugh sung it in later years but
It's really sloooow thought. Listen to it then listen to the B&W version :?
Lol, I know what the B&W version sounds like. I prefer the mature more laid-back vibe.

OK I am starting a new thread about this gig because I just flicked through it on Youtube and have some questions but do not wish to go off on a tangent on this thread, in case answers about wild and outrageous behaviours are lost.

Its cool that you know that the B&W version of Toiler doesn't just plod along in a "mature" fashion.
