The most 80s sounding album

Post by theraven1979 »

Currently sat on a train thinking This Is Big Audio Dynamite is the most 80s sounding album. Anything more 80s than this? Thinking tons of production, glossy synth stabs, samples, fairly iconic, drum machine, midi bass etc

Nothing screams 1980s more than 1980s prince to me.

The Trevor Horn stuff is a good shout. Those little synth stabs he does are all over 80s music

It's difficult for me to say, because records released in 1981 sound different to records released in 1985, which in turn sound different to records released in 1989.

Agreed, even "pop"/chart songs sounded different across those years.

The decade (from the mid 80s) of the Yamaha DX7 and ridiculous sounding snare drum. Some albums were spoilt with the production.
