Instantly had to forget all your music likes at that point - oh the perils of slavishly following fashion.

So can't disagree with the article. Even to the point that I witnessed the Sham / Steve Hillage moment myself.
All on a day of total chaos. Sham were on the money that day.Always played blistering sets in those days.

Good article.
These young musicians didn't start listening to music suddenly in 1976 so had to listen to what was available previously.
And to be interested enough in music to want to be a musician they must have listened to a wide variety of genres.
