Glastonbury 2022
Can we take anything from this now the Damned are out? Jesus & Mary Chain or Idles perhaps?
Undertones playing the acoustic stage?
Presumably some of the above are on iPlayer?

Surprised the dammed pulled out tbh. Good money innit? Vanian and Sensible are not infected I believe. Couldn't they have got a stand in?

I don't think they had a choice,It was a huge pay day though, I think there must be tensions in the camp with Sensible not getting vaccinated. So it's now really seeing if McCartney has any voice left on Saturday,he is 80 but will be interesting to watch.Lt Kudu.theraven1979 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 17:46 Surprised the dammed pulled out tbh. Re: Glastonbury 2022
McCartney's voice has been in poor shape for a while now.
Re: Glastonbury 2022
I thought Macca put on a great show for an 80 year old though! Hopefully that means Hugh and Stranglers could still be around perforing for another decade then!
Also just found Supergrass on the I Player

He looks great for 80 doesn't he?jason wrote:I thought Macca put on a great show for an 80 year old though! Hopefully that means Hugh and Stranglers could still be around perforing for another decade then!

I only watched the first hour, then found myself falling asleep so went to bed. It was late and I'd had a busy day, and a few glasses of wine...
So perhaps I missed the best bit? My TV audio isn't great, but his voice didn't seem loud enough to me, and I wondered why the enginneers couldn't turn him up a bit? Perhaps it doesn't work that way..
Anyway it's amazing that he can still do this at 80. It's not my type of music though but fair play to him..

I also fell asleep during Macca - found it hard going tbh. Agreed though he looks great for 80.
So far, highlights for me are Idles, Jesus and Mary Chain and Dry Cleaning

Not a group I've ever taken too seriously, nor have I ever watched their live set before.
But I thought the Pet Shop Boys was excellent last night.
I don't know how much of it is really live, vs backing track, but nevertheless what a show!

I've seen some of their gigs on Sky Arts before and they do seem really good, for that sort of gig. I'm not sure I could put up with all the theatricals that they usually have, but they're not the only ones doing that.aldinblack wrote: ↑27 Jun 2022, 08:06 Not a group I've ever taken too seriously, nor have I ever watched their live set before.

Yes, over the top theatricals can get on my nerves too!droopsnoot wrote:I've seen some of their gigs on Sky Arts before and they do seem really good, for that sort of gig. They seemed to balance it quite well though, in that they started pretty low key for the first half hour or so, then all of that dancing stuff etc got going, but they toned it right down again at the end of their set.
The light show was superb, as was the sound inc Tenant"s voice all the way through.
All in all I found it much more absorbing that all of the other so called headliners...
