The Clash vs The Stranglers

Like others have said, I do really like, and sometimes play some Clash songs, but they are not on my essential list.

I adored the first album at the time, but would struggle to listen to it all the way through now; it's a bit of a one trick pony for me. Second album has better song writing I think....but is patchy...London calling too. Lost interest after that really....dipped occasionally. They are no a 'best of' band for me.

Thinking about this (approx) contemporaneously....

Rattus or Heroes vs the Clash
B & W vs Enough Rope
Raven vs London Calling
MIB vs Sandinista
La Folie vs Combat Rock


Presented like that it's a bit of a no brainer for me! The difference in musical ambition and innovation is pretty stark!
