Quite a shock! A troubled soul who had seemed to at last find some peace in his life.
I'm a recent convert after a mate took me to a gig supporting the briliant Gargoyle album. His performance blew me away, so mesmeric. I loved the tone of his voice too, and have enjoyed discovering his back catalogue.

RIP Mark Lanegan.
Had recently read his book 'Sing Backwards and Weep', which doesn't hold back. Had passingly enjoyed the Screaming Trees, but it was his own 'Bubblegum' album which really got me into his work, as well as his albums with Isobel Campbell. He leaves a fine catalogue behind.

Yeah, I was more than a bit deflated when I heard the news of Lanegan passing, although I'd be lying if I said it was much of a shock. The shock for me was more that he'd made it as far as he had.
