I only really know Pumpkinhead, Disappointed and the excellent Wrapped In Grey. I think I've gone through all these 'new to me' albums once or twice so far. A hell of a lot to take in but I love discovering quality stuff. I didn't get 'Apple Venus' much at first and then bang, 'Easter Theatre' hits home.

For me........

On Nonsuch:

Then She Appeared, Omnibus, Ugly Underneath, My Bird Performs.

Apple Venus:

River Of Orchids, I'd Like That, Easter Theatre (as you mentioned), The Last Balloon

To be fair both albums have so much to give. Perfect pop with exquisite arrangements and melodies

Interestingly... I'm listening to 'Yacht Dance' from English Settlement. It's the first time ever there's been a bass tone on another record that reminded me in some way of the bass sound on The Gospel. It's not exact of course but I suspect Colin had his Wal for this.

The other tracks aren't as noticeable - nor are many other records played on a Wal but 'Yacht Dance' has it.

It's a real shame they aren't together anymore.

I’m enjoying the new 5.1 of The Big Express at the moment.
It has definitely benefited from the Steven Wilson remix, less cluttered and clunky, and you can actually hear a lot of real drums on it, rather than the Linn drum that seemed to dominate the 1984 version.

A new guy at my work (he's been with us for about 2 years  ) came in in a Devo tour tshirt a month or so back so we get talking about music. It was round about then l noticed the English Settlments horse tattoo on his arm 🙃
