No more amps?

No more amps?
Someone mentioned on the Ashdown facebook page that the band appear to no longer have visible amps on stage. A quick youtube search of the recent tour seems to verify this. That's a first isn't it?

Re: No more amps?
They don't need amps for "White Stallion" anyway, do they? Backing straight through the PA.

Intresting, i hadn't noticed before that the amps aren't visible on stage on this tour, nice touch with the No More Heroes staircase for jj to lap up his intro and rightly so too...Great Stuff!

Technology always has!
It's just one of those old things where you have to have the amps there because it looks cool.
The old 80s metal thing of having walls of speaker cabinets was such a corny joke because they would all be empty and hidden round the back would probably be an old battered amp that sounds great
All part of the aesthetics and The Stranglers have always done that side of things well. Really like the sparse look and the very effective lights on stage.

Not sure how The Stranglers are doing it but unless you really MUST have a sound from a particular amp you don't need to have one, nor speakers. It can all be done with some outboard gear and monitoring.
