Your euro set list?

Post by toilerinblack »

With the tour about to commence what with Dave in mind and the new player coming in if you were the band now what sort of set list would you play as this band now embarks on a long awaited tour but now with a difference on stage.... mine would be something like this...

Waltzinblack
If you should see Dave/IF something's/Golden Brown all acoustic Medly
Full Electric Set:
No More Heroes
Water
Relentless
Threatened
North Winds Blowing
freedom
Bitching
This Song
Tramp
Grip
Into the Fire
No Man's Land
Moon
It only takes two to tango
Let me introduce you to the family
Norfolk Coast
5 minutes
Down in the Sewer

Encore
Toiler
Tank
Go Buddy go
Never Say Goodbye

If they wasn't to start with a medly then waltz straight to Heroes then the rest of my list .

Hmm. Earlier on I found myself on hold for about 25 minutes waiting to get through to someone and the hold music was just the most excruciating slap bass and tinkly piano bullshit. Even with that in mind, it was still infinitely more fun and listenable than the occasion I found myself wincing through Baz singing "Tramp"

To be fair to Baz has never done this so it's in Stans warped imagination! Image

Off thread I think Tramp is one of the greatest Stranglers songs ever, sublime in every way. And possibly Hughs most heartfelt vocal performance and lyric.Lt Kudu.

Nice list. But no songs from Raven, Gospel (assuming Waltz record is the intro), and Dreamtime. No room for Thrown Away and Nuclear Advice or the Raven?

5- Barbara
6- Mean to Me
7- Fickle Resolve
8- Mayan Skies
9- Ghost Train
10- Lines
11- Dave
12- Since you went away
13- Blue Sister
14- All Roads Lead to Rome
15- I Got Myself to Blame
16- Ain't Nothing to it
17- Norman Normal
18- In Heaven She Walks
19- Breathe
20- Sugar Bullets
21- Instead of This
22- Shut Up
23- In the Shadows

Well i agree and for me talking about Tramp it was the one biggest mistake ever from this band's history i feel,La folie the follow up to GB JJ might of been happy with that but Hugh wasn't and he always wanted GB's follow up song to have been tramp.I think they would of had another hit on their hands after their success with GB with just a great song that never really saw the light of day,to this day i have never ever understood why a song in french was released over Tramp and flopped.Their bubble burst with the release of La Folie as a flop which was such a shame after the massive attention the band got with GB,why the crest of a wave they were on wasn't continued on i'll never know.
I selected Tramp because i've never seen them do it live before but above all it's a bloody good missed song.
