New song that sounds a bit like the Stranglers

See what you think. The opening synth bit from 13 seconds in is definitely Stranglers-inspired:

Definitely...but then settles into a 90s indie thing...or does it? First music I've heard in ages where I don't exactly know where it's going next - which is good

Like Riot In The Village too - slightly reminded me of Richard Dawson.

The music was all written and recorded this year: everything except the guitar came to me in a creative burst in February, my bandmate came up with the guitar part a little later and then we recorded it with Ben Turk from the internationally renowned power metal band Gloryhammer over the summer, with Ben playing drums instead of using my rubbish ones :D

I really like the song. I can hear Stranglers, Captain Sensible, New Model Army and Julian Cope in it. And that ain't bad. In fact - excellent! Cheers.

Yeah not bad - a cross between Stranglers MKII and Aha . I agree with the Richard Dawson comment (if he's the guy who sings the song about Jogging and working in hospitals - if not I've got the wrong guy!)
