I do like a bit of Pink Floyd (and one of the best gigs I have been to), but.....The Final Cut definitely falls into the category of albums: How Can a Song That Good be on an Album so Poor? Great song: Not Now John, the rest dire.

71. Barely even qualifies for a free bus pass.

If I had to choose between listening to The Final Cut or Giants/Dark Matters, I'd settle for no music at all and quite happily listen to the sounds of nature

BBC sound effects albums are great for that and I will often opt for sticking these on in the background. I like the eclectic mix of a pneumatic drill one track and a birdsong the next.
