Re: The Lines preview
There's nothing quirky or experimental about this track at all. It's just not very good.

Is this the whole song or just a part of it?
Re: The Lines preview
For the first time in 40 plus years i feel 'too young' to appreciate a Stranglers song ....

I think it will sound better when heard on the album in sequence, I admit when I first heard it, I thought what the fuck? But as a human of a certain age, see what I did there? I can relate to it, at first I thought it was JJ singing, Baz is certainly singing in JJ style, but after a few listens I get it and like it, and it's not blind allegiance, I have slated Stranglers songs in the past ie stuff from Coup and WIR and this is a little ditty thats divided opinions, so wait for the album before you all condemn the new album. Lt Kudu. Ps maybe I will write a song about the scar on my forehead where I ran into stairs after refusing to wash my hands a few million years ago.

Re: The Lines preview
Since when has identifying/relating to a song been a qualifier for liking it?
I love The Raven but I'm not and never have been a Viking.

Good point. I love Toiler On The Sea but I haven’t ever been a trawlerman, a trawler or been directly or indirectly engaged in any marine based employment role.
