A great choice, a really off beat Western, James Coburn and the late great Elliah wallich, spelling wrong. Lt Kudu.dronecatcher wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 23:55 Not a stereotypical western but my favourite Leone/Morricone film, A Fistful Of Dynamite.

The great silence or The Good The Bad The Ugly
Re: Favourite Western? So many to choose.
Great choice again, this has proved so many to chose from, I will mention Open Range with Kevin Cosner and Robert Duvall, amazing scenery and big scale that Kevin Cosner does well when he makes a good one, also love his version of wyatt Earrp a hero of mine. Lt Kudu.

The Star Trek episode Spectre of the Gun is a great sci fi / western crossover. Worth hunting down if you haven’t seen it - I think it’s on Netflix.

Wouldn't know where to start , I like a lot , from spaghetti westerns to the John Ford films , Magnificent 7 . Couldn't pick a top ten let alone a top one . Far too many quality films . Even sci fi Westworld as well . I do think Fistful of Dollars is better than Good ,bad and the ugly ......but both are great .
All quiet ..........

Yes I keep on remembering others now, the big country, searchers, the man from the east, but if I had to pick one possibly Pale Rider? On so many levels, the settings, the mystery and of course Clint in his long coat, and it has a line in it that would not be allowed today. The top class. Saw three or four in service right at the tail-end of their duties, and a load more on a tour of Swindon Works scrapyard. My fave is my first: Western Patriarch.Summer Dreamer wrote: ↑15 Dec 2020, 12:52 D1013 WESTERN RANGER

Yes.The first of the trilogy 'fistful' was a bit rough and amateurish.I never enjoyed that one much, nowhere as much as the two follow ups.Pale Rider was a great too.
Greatkudu- I don't think Eli Wallach was in Dynamite.Rod Steiger?
