Re: The Fall song of the day
There was something about the Fall's very first drummer in the latest episode.
(He died thirty years ago)
Living in Manchester I estimate I have met only six ex Fall members.

Re: The Fall song of the day
Came up on my time hop today that I was in a pub with a Fall guitarist 9 years ago. I was in that pub in Manchester. Name escapes me but it's just off a main road in the centre. Long bar as you walk in then seats at the back and a venue downstairs if I recallFive Minutes wrote:There was something about the Fall's very first drummer in the latest episode.

The lyrics to Bombast run through my head most days, especially the bits about self entitlement whenever l spot a twat.

I've never really got into the Fall. Am I missing much then?
Re: The Fall song of the day
Difficult to say - it's the kind of group that you either love or hate, no inbetween I think. I got into them hearing their weird song Eat Y'self Fitter on the radio back in the day and was instantly hooked. If you hardly know them the easiest (if there is such a thing) way to get into them is I suppose giving the album Their Nations Saving Grace a listen.I've never really got into the Fall. Am I missing much then?

Re: The Fall song of the day
Yes absolutely.
I first heard ‘Totally Wired’ in 1980 and thought wow this guy sounds a bit like Hugh. Around that time a girl in my class at school said “Do you think Mark E Smith sounds like Hugh Cornwell?” I was impressed by this as I thought I was the only one who had noticed.
Anyway I didn’t get into them proper though until the late 80’s and they were a bit hit and miss for me but then later in the 90’s I became a bit of a fan.
There’s 31 studio albums + loads more including live stuff so there’s a lot to take in. They’re a bit like Marmite I guess and you either love them or hate them but when/ if you do eventually get them, then you really get them!
Tbh if I was new to them I’d prob start with the last album and work backwards.
