The Members w./ Rat Scabies - New Album.

Post by Rockula »

For anybody that might be interested....

The Members News February 2012

ANOTHER TOUR OF DUTY ON THE EASTERN FRONT
Chris Payne, Rat Scabies and JC Carroll have just returned from another tour of duty on the Eastern front. Great shows and debuts in Croatia, Austria, Slovenia and Holland. People over there go crazy for the new material as well as the classic Members material. There were some 'down sides'; massive long drives, minus 20 temperatures, sleeping in Austrian squats, East German Border Police searches in the snow and Slovenian traffic fines. They would not have been able to do it without the heroics of Ken (Rockula) their 'Steampunk' driver.

35th ANNIVERSARY SHOW on 3RD MARCH
They have a 35th Anniversary show planned at the Garage in Highbury on 3rd `March which will feature a special appearance by Members Founder Nicky Tesco and Ex-Member, now Vibrators guitarist, Nigel Bennett. For those of you who have not seen them perform with Rat you will find out why they call them the Punk Who….(insert personal superlative here). They have been rocking with the Rat for over 18 months now and he brings something special to the band.

NEW ALBUM InGrrLand FINISHED
The new album is finally finished and will be released Digitally on the 3rd March. The album features JC Carroll, Chris Payne and Rat Scabies along with guitar from Nigel Bennett and drums by Nick Cash (no, not the one from 999) and other very special guests. Artwork concept is by the man who designed the original Members sleeves, Malcolm Garrett, and it is mixed by Cure producer David M. Allen.
(Incidentally, trivia fans, the album was recorded on Conny (Kraftwerk) Plank's recording desk, now part of The Member's studio.)

The Members are running a pledge campaign to raise the money to make this album a very special limited edition vinyl you can take part in the production of this album by pledging a small amount of money or booking a special edition copy. Or getting a private performance. This Special Edition is due to be released beginning of April.
(There will be a VERY limited edition on green dayglo vinyl analogue fans.)

Very interesting. Does the digital release mean cd or download ( or both)?

Forget it, opened the link and my question was answered. Quite fancy hearing this. Saw The Members twice (1980/81) and they were a great live band. Why isn't Nicky Tesco with the full time btw?

Nicky: Rheumatoid Arthritis, two strokes, walks with crutches, doesn't travel far from his home near Islington. Only does the 'reunion' gigs near his house about once a year. Sad but true. Age gets to us all in the end. :(
