Fuck me, I hope not!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Nah they ain’t too bad some of em, although some of the vocals are truly awful, no enthusiasm at all. Just sounds like they couldn’t be arsed.
I could knock out a straight cover version like most of these in an hour or so but why? (doesn’t include mixing) We’ve already got these songs by a band called The....Stranglers! Yeah remember them?
If I was to do summat I wouldn’t do a straight copy cos that would be so fucking boring, try summat different FFS.
Look here’s an example - Walk On By, The Stranglers really gave that a kick up the arse and came up with IMHO one of the best cover versions ever and it included a huge amount of creativity and originality too, all sadly lacking in most of these Stranglers cover versions.
All I’m saying is try looking it from that perspective.

I think they're all fantastic. Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I'm aware none of the peeps involved are professional musicians. A lot of them are different to the originals and very inventive......Blimey you're never feckin happy are you Arthur? Life must really suck for you.

Well said Jim.
And Arthur- I'd suggest re reading the original posts, I've helpfully supplied a link,
then, mibee, shutting the fuck up, a bit.
an example-
Its An Idea.
I wouldn't presume for a second that anyone would regard this (if it ever fucken becomes a "this")
as a must-have addition to their prized collection.
...
It would just be some fans having a laugh, and celebrating their band.
Fuxake, I know it'll be no mispressed 4-D Raven for the M!B-who-has-to-have-everything
to salivate over.
and
It's quite a cool idea though, innit? I mean, even if we decide, for whatever reason, not to be arsed doing it,
it is a cool idea- A fans' Forum producing, between them, a covers album of their band's work.
...
It's a laff, innit?

You may also be amused to see early talk of your good self maybe doing a track or two for the Forums album,
but as I recall you failed to deliver much except talk.

I do apologise Jim, I obviously didn’t get the memo, I thought that as one gets older you are supposed to moan all the time! Jim
That’s what old folk do innit? and I guess I am quite old so....
And btw nope life is very beautiful thanks. There’s a few forum members on here who I won’t mention (you know who they are) who moan constantly about EVERYTHING The Stranglers & Hugh no matter what they do or don’t do, I very rarely do that as I’m still in love with the band and Hugh. Life would certainly suck without them.

I'm not allowed - I don't understand how music works apparently...
That aside, I'm up for it if there are any other takers?

Brilliant Arthur!! Personally, it's an intoned reverse Verse....but not a Chorus as we know it......Arthur Streeb-Greebling wrote:Aye probably and yeah mate you’ve been told good and proper by the banker haven’t you?dronecatcher wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 09:54I'm not allowed - I don't understand how music works apparently...

This is my favourite Chorus, it’s all you need really. It’s an original 80’s model too -
