My 'desert island discs' top 10 - let's see yours!!!
I have been asked to do a Desert Island discs thing for a local radio station on Monday (Somer Valley FM - yep Chorley FM part two).
I have chosen singles (Beatles track excluded) so they are well known to a 'normal' audience. Was tempted to just do 10 Stranglers songs (and would have done non album tracks like Sewer, raven, Relentless etc) but though that might be a tad self-indulgent so came up with the following. i chose two Strang singles - a classic Mark oner and my fave post 1990 single.
Love to see other people's top tens (and try and just keep to two Stranglers singles as I thought I had better!)
1 THE STRANGLERS No More Heroes
2 BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Born To Run
3 RADIOHEAD No Surprises
4 THE KILLERS Mr Brightside
5 THE CLASH Complete Control
6 THE JAM When You’re Young
7 OASIS Stop Crying Your Heart Out
8 THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM The 59 Sound
9 THE BEATLES Here, There and Everywhere
10 THE STRANGLERS Spectre of Love
Feel free to attack! (Not that you will need to be invited with Brooooce in the list)

Albums vs singles - totally different threads.
Could you just live with singles though?

Re: My 'desert island discs' top 10 - let's see yours!!!
Near impossible, this is just based on now though and could change next week, I dunno if I can do albums or not but I would prefer that so here goes:
The Stranglers- No More Heroes (Dagenham Dave)
Siouxsie and the Banshees- The Scream (Carcass)
David Bowie- Diamond Dogs (Sweet Thing)
Soft Cell- Non Stop Erotic Caberet (Where did our love go- extra track)
Motorhead- Overkill (Limb from Limb)
Massive Attack- Mezzanine (Angel)
Oi Polloi- Fuaim Catha (Fuck everybody who voted Tory)
The Jam- Setting Sons (Wasteland)
Linton Kwesi Johnson- Forces of Victory (Sonny's Lettah)
The Stranglers- Norfolk Coast (title Track)
Like I say just based on current tastes could change tomorrow and sorry for doing albums would settle for one track off each if I had to, but these desert island discs are impossible and I'm sure most people who actually get to go on the show only base it on what they like then and would pretty much go insane with their choices after a month stuck on an island with fuck all else to listen to, lets face it if we were on a desret island we would hopefully have a 10- gig mp3 player with a solar power source to recharge it on
NB- Edited to say which song I would chose if I had to
