For me it's Depeche Mode. When I was about eight years old, I watched their music video for "It's No Good" on TV. Still like them now.
...that's amazing, taking it all day to learn that bass solo...

Used to really look forward to TOTP when they were playing. Can't say that i really liked any other of the glam bands though.
The first style of music i liked was Punk and it still is my favourite.
Yeah, me too!! I LOVED The Sweet (and still do) They were my faves when I was 10/11 years old. Also liked GG (oops!!) and a bit of Slade so i was a glam boy until my GF brought me rattus for Xmas and me life changed...........
Sweet played here in London Ont last month but didnt get to see them, apparantly there were quite good.

Good question mate.
First bands for me were the Kinks and Small Faces: my older sister was well into all of these bands - and others including Motown. Loved em all.. the bands, as opposed to my sister!
But I liked these bands from their singles, rather than the whole package. Yannow LP's, image, etc.
The first band (proper) I got into was....

The Sweet and Slade for me too. At the time The Sweet were my absolute favourites, but nowadays I prefer a lot of the old Slade stuff (particularly still love "Cum on Feel The Noize").
I was a bit of a slow starter with punk, and didn't really wake up to it until I heard the No More Heroes single for the first time - from that point onwards things were never the same again.

Saw The Sweet last month at the Rebellion festival and really liked them.Quite rocky until they played "Love is like oxygen" which turned into a bit of prog rock, but after that song they really rocked again.
Never really heard much of Slade in those days except for the singles which were ok but i definately prefered The Sweet.

Showing my age now but Free were the 1st. band I could relate to,
Then came Roxy Music when all my school mates loved Bowie ( they thought I was strange ).
But Bands are like women, you have to experience several before your true love comes on the scene.
Then comes something you know you can never can get enough of, that came with Rattus and that tour.
