Just been blasting out MC5's 'Kick Out The Jams'
I musta read about this band for like about 20 years but never bought any of their records. I eventually bought 'Kick Out The Jams' about 3 or 4 years ago. That twin guitar attack of Wayne Kramer & Fred 'Sonic' Smith was fanfuckingtastic. They are one of my fave American bands, they rocked.
They are considered by many an important precursor of and influence on punk rock.

If you don't own Kick Out The Jams then do yourself a favour and buy it, it's one of the best live albums recorded alongside The Who's Live At Leeds.

They have a lot of guests appearing onstage with them nowadays. Recall at the Download festival last year Lemmy slurring and puffing his way through a number with them. He modelled Motorhead on MC5 originally.
An oft overlooked band.

If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.
