Interesting to compare, for example, those born in 1949 with those born in 1952. The latter could have consumed over double the amount of sugar that the former did!

Hugh has touched on this similar subject as well hasn't he. Its quite frightening how easily society just shovels all this bad food down.

I was lucky my parents didn't give me any of this when I was young. She used to educate me even from a young age that its not good for me.So I only had them as special treats. Its very difficult but today I try to limit salt, sugar and fat from my diet. Its very difficult to do on a personal level and even on a practical level as well, as everything like this is hidden in all that we eat its almost impossible to avoid.

When I was very young I think the statistic for getting cancer was 1 in 4 then it increased to 1 in 3 then today we have a stat of 1 in 2 of us will get cancer. Charities tell us they are beating cancer but the figures show they are not and I know that is due to better research and understanding but even so 1 in 2 is a very scary thought.
