They played White Stallion at Scarborough and didn’t open with Toiler either it was Straighten Out
They can't not play White Stallion. It is their hit of the millenium.

I saw a clip of Baz bantering with the crowd but I was always told if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all.So I won't.

What all three bands had in common, apart from their roots in 1976 and 1977
Jean-Jacques Burnel, the band’s bassist, has been in place since 1974.

Say what?

These all-male bands played to a (mostly) male crowd.
Carter insisted at one point that the mosh pit in the audience be expanded and filled by female audience members, who jumped at the chance to have their moment of freedom

I am in no way, shape, or form a soap box feminist, but how incredibly demeaning to state that "female audience members ... jumped at the chance" ... what the bazinga is that?!?!?!?!?!?! maybe things have changed in 20 years, but I never waited for an invite ... if I wanted to be in the pit, I was in the pit. So were plenty of other females! There was no lack of freedom in pits (circle or mosh) in my day ... what has changed?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

ETA: No wonder some punter mentioned "beer" and "your head" to him.

So the reviewer is a Pistols fan, ok, but he could have reviewed a bit more the performance of The Stranglers (and The Undertones). Why The Stranglers aren't the main act at none of these summer "punk and beyond music" festivals, I still don't understand (but that's probably only me 🤪).
