I'm a massive fan, they are superb live.
The current line up is probably the best since the original line up and the twin guitar attack will blow you away.
If your going to the 100 club ill see you there

Re: The Godfathers
The Godfathers supported the Stranglers at the Alexander Palace back in that fateful date in 1990. I still have the Program here and although it was at alexander Palace its all about celebrating 5 years of Town and Country Club. Which might explain the jest Hugh says when he mentions you don't know how old ally pally is do you.
What my program says about the Godfathers is how they had the London venue the Empire Ballroom at Leister Square (one of my all time fav places) cancelled earlier in the year because management of the place didn't like the sort of audiences that the Godfathers attracted. Then goes on to say Ally Pally doesnt have any of those sort of reservations and are happy to see Peter Coyne and the rest of the band tonight. With photo of Band
I don't remember the God Fathers being all that great live for me when i saw them but were ok. They have a few good songs on record though.

Re: The Godfathers
They evolved from Sid Presley Experience who had a few good songs and did a Peel session I think.
Last time I came here a friend of mine just got triple-jacked over a steeplehammer and jessop jessop jessop jessop jessop
Re: The Godfathers
My second favourite band.
Mr Think tank, they were great live and still are.
They were only a four piece when they supported our boys a few years back but are back to five.
Their last album, Alpha Beta Gamma Delta, is a real return to form.

Probably not their fault i wasn't there to see them so they wasn't on my radar and i was probably only casually watching. Its worth mentioning i was there for the whole weekend and there to see lots of bands i have seen previously before and all were usually great live bands including the Stranglers and none of them on this occasion came up trumps and played there best performances . I blame the venue I didn't think it was the best of places for capturing the atmosphere. Jungle Brothers were great it seemed like they were suited to that sort of venue.
Re: The Godfathers
Really enjoyed seeing them live a few times (a.o. as support to our stranglers).

Playing a good venue in Edinburgh (Voodoo Rooms) and only £22.50.
Re: The Godfathers
I auditioned for them in 2014. Didn't get the gig sadly, but Peter Coyne is a top bloke. Ended up getting guest list when they played Paisley in 2022.
