Better than "buddy" which should only be used to call your dog or for starting a fight "you alright there buddy?"

There's a guy at work that calls everyone buddy so he's known (not to him) as "Bud".

"mate", "bud", "son", "dude" - have all been used and I don't have a problem with any of them - they are at least all one syllable. But there is nothing to be gained by saying "fella" unless you like sounding like a prick!

People who say ok Guys,I loathe that expression,I never use it,I say Chaps at work or Ladies and Gentlemen or troops.I refuse to ever say Guys.Major Kudu.

I used to work with a bunch of guys, (oops !), who used to refer to each other or other teams / groups of people as "donkeys". It was like "hello donkey", or, " those donkeys over there" etc.

“I mean” has definitely taken over from “Like” as the most annoying but I think most of us say both words without realising sometimes.
I even said “Super” on here yesterday! That’s another annoying one starting to creep in.
