Fave Live Mistakes?

Post by Arthur Streeb-Greebling »

@ 5.55 onwards -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSPh9Kcd0Hk

Just seen this and it really made me chuckle.
JJ with his hands on his hips (twice ) and probably giving poor old Jet a telling off.

It reminded me of my fondest memories of Stranglers gigs between ‘81-‘90. The mistakes would just make us fall in love with the band even more so and especially when Hugh would make a comment, forget the words or tell a few jokes.

If you can find anymore vids please post em (and/ or your memories of the band making mistakes)
Cheers.

Surely them playing Summer in the city at the Albert Hall was their biggest mistake!

Paul referring to Glasgow as the greatest city in England as the Barrowlands had two shiny glitter balls is probably not his finest moment. But then stage diving into the crowd during Go Buddy Go probably got some forgiveness.

I cant remember where or when i am afraid most of the gigs blend in to one after 35+ years later but i do remember a time when JJ Bass string snapped and he had an aid who ran on stage for quick change over to a new bass .
Well JJ always up for a challenge refused the new bass as it was mid-song and carried on with the broken stringed instrument having to play on another string but much higher up on the fret increasing the difficulty and sound. Not really a mistake as such but a very clever cover up and gave JJ a good chance to show off his skills and talent.

I cant be absolutely 100% sure but i think the song was Sewer and i have a memory of JJ showing his brilliance all through rats rally with this broken stringed bass.
