I would hate to see Elton John, in any medium.

Just catching up on the coverage and so far Working Men's Club and Jockstrap are the highlights. Rick Astley's Smiths effort was commendable but you almost struggle to recognise the song with most of it.

Maybe Morrissey should try some Rick Astley hits!

Of course. I mean, it would make sense that they would rather show something current and relevant to now over something that isn't.
Yes but the Damned are a legendary punk band. Surely they are worthy of a bit of coverage?
I like The Damned. Or rather, I like a certain period of The Damned, and it's very difficult to dispute their relevance to a scene that happened at a particular point in history. I'm fairly sure they're not as relevant to 2023 as you think they are, though... and again, I like The Damned.

I saw a little bit of Elton John's set on iPlayer, but he sounded like Vic Reeves' club singer. CHVRCHES were great. Wasn't really bothered about watching much else.

Probably also has to do with where the Beeb have their cameras. I suspect they just weren't at that stage.

Glastonbury is all a bit fucking Tory these days. Full of middle class twerps slumming it and trying to "live like common people" for a few days.

Watched "Generation Sex" and it sounded pretty lame tbh. Also, how does Billy Idol still have this own hair?

Just watching that now and i thought it was really good. It probably helps that its always been my favourite Smiths track ever since i first heard it back in the early days. I thought |Astely did it justice to be fair.
