The latest Noel Gallagher and the high flying birds is really good . I Just happened to stumble over this one yesterday and started to listen and thought its not bad. Then i listened again and thought actually pretty good. The third time i listened i was like this is a very enjoyable listen i like this album a lot

Its called Council Skies its not the sort of thing i get into usually but this has the right balance of rock with a laid back attitude. Its song writing that i would say is on a parallel to his Oasis work i have to say i am surprised as his other solo work was just on a level but this album is reaching high. If you do listen to it look out for the track "Open the door, see what is inside" its a really beautiful song very high standard of song writing. He uses an orchestra to very good effect

I just found this on youtube of Open the door live on Jools Holland - incredible version

I found it an enjoyable listen. Amazing to think that Pulp, Suede and Blur are all doing what they do in 2023, and Noel's High Flying Birds may as well be Oasis without Liam. Supergrass have played gigs in very recent years, Weller is keeping on trucking, The Boo Radleys have (mostly) reformed, Ash are still a thing...

Even the bottom tier Britpop bands like Cast, Kula Shaker, Sleeper, Ocean Colour Scene, The Bluetones etc. are still going concerns, Ian Broudie is doing the Lightning Seeds again...

Fucking hell, bring Elastica and Menswear back and it's like the '90s never went away, bonus points if hell freezes over enough for The Verve to get back together again.

I noticed Cud and Boo Radleys are touring together. Talk about a mid 90s indie student disco!
