They have to play the big hits so that's a given. By that I mean GB and ATS.
Two sets mean that they will also play ALL the 'usuals' that people want to hear and are proven.
Then we have some scope for 1-3 specials.
I think the only way we will hear a Dave song sung by someone else is when it's a big dedication to him and the 50th would be ideal for that. Any other time and it wouldn't really work. You can't just slip in Genetix or Peasant. I think Jet will also have his dedication too.
For me i'd like to see them do a few things on the 50th tour next year ..
Firstly a few more from Suite if they ever wanted to start a gig with a cracking Stranglers song that was recorded post Hugh then for me .."Summat Outanowt" comes straight to my mind and top of any setlist.... what a belter to start with... just a cracking song that has literally everything to it's name from one of the best post Hugh albums to date..... but no doubt it will be tolier.
At the Royal Albert Hall if there's strings then I'd love a special one off on "White Stallion" with the orchestra strings accompanying a live opera singer with the band ....now that would be an amazing thing to hear and see.
Will it be a Toiler start or from the very beginning of this bands formation they will start with JJs first written song...."Go Buddy go" after Waltz and will they end with "Heroes....
I'd love a joint Was it you/ Sewer again like the '80s gigs used to have with Hugh.
Finish off the set with Genetix as an instrumental as a tribute to Jet and Dave.
I guess we know Grip-Peaches-Buddy-SBC-Heroes-Sleazy-Toiler-Tank-WOB-Nuke-Duchess-GB-Skin Deep-Sun-Relentless are absolute certs.
Sewer-Hanging Around-Raven-Norfolk Coast- Time to die are likely as the mark critical points.
So perhaps add 8 or so more.
