I don't think a continuation as a guess only by JJ is because he needs a top up of anything outside of what he enjoys doing best.....Playing to a crowd!
He's playing still because he wants to and would miss the buzz of the crowd and especially his little solo parts to his audience and that's what keeps him going i think and writing new material too,i don't think you get the buzz still from keep playing the old ones over and over again, the buzz for me is two major points 1) playing to your audience who still admire your craft as a musician and seeing you play at what you do best and 2) writing new material about subjects that are meaningful to yourself still trying to produce great new songs that your followers will like too.
Again it's only my opinion as i'm not in the band so i wouldn't know how they all feel, but the Stranglers clearly are really enjoying playing still for those who still want to see them and enjoy their music and it's also their still a living for them all.
