Iggy Pop..Every Loser

Post by RetroRocket »

Really loving the new Every Loser album. It might be a bit Iggy by numbers but I don't care...it's so catchy!

One of those rare albums where I go straight back to the beginning and play it all over again. Only skipping one track at the moment (Neo Punk).

I already have my Crystal Palace ticket.

I think Post Pop Depression is also a stunning album...but I've not been moved by anything since...until this one!

The only Iggy album I really care about is The Idiot, but that's more because it's sonically more of a Bowie album than an Iggy one. There's definitely not another Iggy album like it, not even Lust for Life (which I don't like anywhere near as much)

Didn't Bowie write most of the Blah Blah Blah album? He certainly wrote the wonderful track Shades. Whatshischops played guitar on it as well

Yeah, that was another Bowie collaboration. Steve Jones worked on that album too, I think?

He's said he almost rejected a grammy for lifetime achievement recently. Almost. I'd be interested to hear whether this is just publicity seeking or a statement of artistic integrity.

Remember when Iggy Pop did an advert for Swiftcover but it got banned because he never actually would have been allowed to have a policy?

I had forgotten all about that!

How wonderfully ironic!

The intro to the song "Comments" sounds like something off Hugh's new one.

That's my favourite track on the album...at the moment.

I hadn't noticed that...but yes, I can hear what you mean. I just love that bass intro and chiming guitar chords!

I also love the way Iggy's voice has aged / matured...also like Hugh!
