The Stranglers are whoever are in the band at the time, so they are always 100% Stranglers. The problem is, that for a variety of reasons, they continue to play predominantly mk1 stuff live, so we see three people on stage who are not playing the music they wrote. That's not unusual, loads of acts rely on writers, but it is different seeing writer performer their own work.
