Baz interview about Toby

Post by Rattus2411 »

This interview is from last month but hasn't been posted here yet. Baz mentions that JJ and Toby had worked together previously, does anybody know any more about that?

tenuous link :?

The guitarist from Oslo Plektrum - Espen Beranek Holm - has played with Dave and JJ

Beranek has worked with such peers as JJ Burnel & Dave Greenfield from The Stranglers and noted pedal steel guitarist B.J. Cole and has been a member of the bands Dei Nye Kappelanane, Langsomt Mot Nord, Spastisk Ekstase and Ung Pike Forsvunnet. He is currently the vocalist and playing guitar in the Oslo-based power trio Oslo Plektrum.
1984 JJ played on one track on Beranek's album Trigger

Beranek – Trigger album (1984) : production, bass and backing vocals on track "All Through the Night"

2019 Beranek plays in a band Oslo Plektrum - appear with Ray Dorset (Mungo Jerry) [2008 Mungo Jerry recruited Toby Hounsham for keyboards]

I did some digging on this about 18 months ago and I think his old band Rialto were on China records/castle communications so I think they might have shared a studio or something. Again yes a tad tenuous
