First reviews of tonight’s gig are really positive, bodes well for the rest of the tour.
Then I got tired of counting all of these blessings, and then I just got tired.

Not sure how accurate this is - I wasn't at the gig.

Re: Tour Start Tonight enjoy at Sunny Lincoln.
I’m sure that’s accurate - it has comments from someone who saw the setlist and lists a couple of unplayed encores.
Setlist is about what I’d expect - basically 75% from 77-79 plus half the new album and a couple of 1980s singles, give or take. Nothing that really counts as a deep cut but a few songs that haven’t turned up quite so often.
If it stays like that when I see them in Birmingham I’d be happy enough, and I’m sure it’ll be emotional by the end of the last song.

I think they played 8 tracks from 2004 onwards so not bad. I'd rather see a few more though.

Re: Tour Start Tonight enjoy at Sunny Lincoln.
8 from 24 equals 1/3rd versus 2/3rds
Hardly a band playing just the old stuff.
Obviously they are going to play their hits which were 1977-1982.

It was a great gig and anyone going to any of the gigs is in for a treat in my opinion, perhaps especially the lively Glasgow and Manchester ones

Re: Tour Start Tonight enjoy at Sunny Lincoln.
Over half of the set is made up of material from the first four Stranglers albums. They have 18 albums that are "crying out to be played", do they not? (Apparently) ... also, 1 track each from Norfolk Coast and Suite XVI and none from Giants? Faith in your art right there. Of course, of the Dark Matters selections... one is a cover, one is JJ dancing to a backing track and one is "The Lines", obviously blowing any of those MKI classics out of the water with their "excellence" ...
At least they've realised where the money is and that is of course in paying tribute to their former selves. Or - if you'd like - it's one member paying tribute to his former band and three of his mates helping him out.

That's what I like the positivity from our number one fan of the present day lineup.
