When Was The Last Time You Saw A Rat?

Post by strangledinAuch »

funny little story for you, well it made me chuckle
down here in deepest darkest south west France,I work in a fruit & veg shop
the other day in the store room when restoking a bloody great rat ran past me
I immediately alerted the boss, there we where,4 of us armed with nothing but brooms trying to trap this rat
the boss said to me,if there's one thing he hate's it's rats,no surprise when you own a fruit & veg shop I suppose
anyway,a couple of days later his mobile was playing up and he asked to use mine
yeah no probs patron as i passed it over, then I remembered my screensaver was the back of RN
he done a double take with this rat on the screen, probably thinking I was taking the piss

When confronting the noble rat always stand with legs apart otherwise he will attempt to jump over your shoulder. And always wash your vegetables.
I'll even let you drive my motorbike . . .

Thought I would have seen more before now but there’s that old saying that there’s always a Rat ‘Hanging Around’ about 6ft away apparently, must be a load of old bollocks cos I’ve only seen 3 in my life, I was gonna say I’ve seen/met plenty in various jobs but that would be an insult to the Rat, they are just CUNTS.

1. Bradford 1980’s (funnily enough I think I was actually there buying Stranglers tickets with me mate)
2. London Undergound 1998
3. New York City Subway 2000

Bastards aren't they. We had a problem with them about 10 years ago. I opened a drawer once and there was a big one standing there looking at me. Frightened the life out me!

These are little fuckers. Got a few humane traps set up.

my own experience with mice is that you gotta stop the little fuckers coming in in the first place. Once they've set up home they'll keep coming if they can. You can trap / poisen/ kill some of them. But more keep coming.
I spent a lot of time going around the outside of the house blocking any little hole ( they climb up the cavity and can even setup home in the loft). Any hole where an old pipe or cable has been, or if you've got any air vents around the property. Or just any gap in the mortar joints. Just deal everything & eventually they'll give up...

Never been one for cat's, but one found us a few years ago. When i say found us, he came around one day we were having a bbq. Everyone thought it would be nice to feed him. Six years later and he's still lodging with us. He lines up mice, bird's and even grass snake's outside the door and more or less say's ' there you go son , iv'e done my job now feed me''.
i want something good to die for, to make it beautiful to live

When we got a cat the mice left. Our old cat left us a disgusting dead rat on our doorstep once. I think he just found it though as he was too dopey to kill it!

Yeah busy blocking stuff up with wire wool. Got a night cam setup in the kitchen to see where they're coming in. That said though all it's detected so far are orbs/ghosts. 8)
