Meatballs

Post by PaulinLondon »

I love meatballs.

Normally, I grill them and then add a spicy tomato sauce and then mix them up with some boiled spaghetti.

Tonight, I fried the meatballs.

So much tastier.

Thoughts ?

Had 6 about half hour ago. Never really tried them much, but get a (fresh) packet from Tesco (12 for £2) whenever i go now. Might research the tin variety.

Homemade and rolled by hand is the way to go. But IKEA meatballs are a guilty pleasure.

I was gonna say IKEA are the only meatballs I've had in the last decade... tried home made but they fall apart.

Fried is always best to get a nice caramelised crust....

You need to apply a little more pressure while shaping and less prodding while in the pan. A recipe for life.

I was put off meatballs as a child after a package holiday with my parents to Spain in the early 70s.
We were served them for every meal even when you ordered a packed lunch meal you got meatball sandwiches

True story
On the train the other day and the bloke next to me is Skypeing his Thai bride, who appeard tobe in Thailand.
She mentions that the neighbours had brought some meatballs around, to which he, jokingly announces 'l have some of those'.
His joke didn't make it through translation so he repeats it. At this point most of carriage has looked up. Misinterpreting that he has now got a captive audience, a third attempt is made. "I have some of those: meaty balls '
She laughed politely and he swiftly moved on to the weather.
An International meatball anecdote for you there folks.
