I've been a massive fan for years and have had the pleasure of working with the late , great Raven when he produced my band and we released our stuff on the legendary Malicious Damage label that was set up for KJ.
I've even played Geordie's golden harps the ES-295s that he has made so iconic . I said to him "It's amazing you trust people like me to play them" He laughed and said "I don't!"

Buy all the albums - some better than others - but it's essential to understand them.Look out particularly for the Extremities album.
Look out for the first 5 albums coming out on picture disc in the near future
The funny thing is they seem to get better as they get older - they till have an attitude and edge to them and seem completely uncompromising musically , still have thoughtful and interesting lyrics . Like you say some albums are better than others ( a bit obvious really  ) - my preferences would be Pandemonium , Night Time , Absolute Disent , MMXii , Pylon .....NONE of the very first albums would make my tops ( Night Time here being oldest and their 5th album) , which is in total contradiction to The Stranglers ratings for me - but it shows how they get better and better . Jaz is one of rock's real characters and individuals - probably quite mad really .Saw them once and loved it , but my girlfriend HATED the experience - too loud and uncompromising for her , she loves The Stranglers ( Golden Brown and that sort of stuff ) . Out of interest JBD - what was/is your band - any YouTube clips ?

Might get there a bit earlier on Friday, just seen that the Membranes are one of the support bands. Thought they were pretty good when supporting The Stranglers.

Killing Joke at Brixton

Can't give you a review that would do it justice

I have never seen them so powerful, tight and focused. Every damn thing was spot on - especially the vocals from Jaz. Sometimes he's a bit off.

Awesome.

Agreed, they were stunning.
Just downloaded the gig(Pledge) and it sounds immense!

KJ piss all over the Stranglers, I wish now I hadn't got tickets for the March tour and saved the money instead for more KJ gigs.

Ravenette

Have you seen a KJ gig?

Honestly. You should check them out ASAP. They are just on fire at the moment.

I know your post was in jest, but Gizz is right. It makes you miss the intensity of the Stranglers of old when you see KJ these days.
