I'm afraid Hodgson lost the plot on this tournament. Playing or taking players like Sterling who hasn't even had a good season. Should have taken players in form like Townshend and Noble and even maybe Defoe.

Blooming great stuff by wales against Belgium.
Not only did they beat Belgium they played well totally class stuff.

They have such a great chance now of getting to the final...
Im really really happy for wales and it shows what a great game football can be.

Looks like England are going for Sam Allaryce . Don't think that's much of an improvement on anything we've had for the last 10 years or so . Guess he's the only English candidate worthwhile that's still in the game - not much of a recommendation though .
Still , I've always got Leeds United to lift my spirits

Hope Big Sam gets the gig.

No point in trying to play continental football after Brexit.

Launch the ball at the moon and crack a defender on the jaw when the ball is on the way back down.

England have tried "going Continental" with a passing game and coaches like Ericsson and Capello, to no avail.

BFS would harness the virtues of the English game.

Much admiration was given to Wales, NI, ROI and Iceland for displaying these virtues. England have better players than those teams so the failure has to be the coaching.

Klinsman would be a good manager.

Got to quarter finals that way - the English /Hodgson way we barely get out of a group or go out embarrassingly . I guess its either boredom the continental way or ineptness the English way . The sooner we realise we aren't as good as we think we are the better. We were headed the right way with Venables and Hoddle but probably had better players at the same time - its bunch of individuals now .

Maybe the super-rich players have grown soft.

It's been the year of the underdog with Leicester winning the Premiership and all the smaller nations who did well at the Euros. Their players are not exactly poor but relatively speaking they still have some hunger.

Like Rocky Balboa in Rocky III maybe it's time to abandon the luxury lifestyle and get back to basics- raw eggs, dawn running and chasing chickens!
