JOOLZ ya pretencious tosser

Post by sewer rat »

is anyone else in agreement that, although Later...with Joolz is the only music programme on tv, it's absolutely fkn shite. maybe he is trying to accommodate for ALL tastes because there's nothing to take up the slack, but come on....moist of the time the artists have never been heard of. why is there no other music programmes anyway? what happened to the good old days of the whistle test, something else, the tube, the word (i suppose), whatever you didn't get....you look at the summer festival line ups and there is definitely a healthy music scene here but nowhere on tv to showcase it....

Joolz Denby deserves all the attention.

Jools Holland was good on The Tube & gave the guys some good air time.
Just a shame he's forgotten what music is all about.
Too narrow these days & needs to remember a lot of bands that made him a Presenter

Total agreement, and the way he has tried to portray himself as a well spoken eccentric when he's really a South London geezer, just so false!

I wonder if he has a major say in who goes on the show? It's really disappointing Hugh or the Stranglers have never performed on his show especially as he has collaborated with Hugh in the past. He's never had Killing Joke on either. I agree its really bad that this about the only music programme on the main channels.

The show reflects the music that's out there.

Most music today is full of kids who's parents sent them to get lessons to learn there instrument.
During the days of the tube there was such a great music scene out there with the guys and girls just getting up and having a go in there own style.

Today that rarely happens.
Its the only real live music show with out it there would be nothing at all.

you get all hopeful when he has guests like magazine and the fall both a long time ago now but surely he must have something against having the stranglers on?

Unless it's the BBC still holding grudges?

I always think that the bands must groan when Jools sits down and plays the piano with them.

It has some good bands on once in a while, seems to be a bar on The Stranglers and Hugh ever appearing on the show, although there was a short Hugh interview a few years ago.

Typical BBC tosh most of the time, the BBC are a total disgrace these day's.

There are certain bands that are always on whenever they release a new album.
