Well finally got to it & hooked up the tape deck to the Laptop.
Just using an ION deck & software, then with a simple clean up On Roxio Sounds Editor.
Loads to go thru but impressed at the tapes still going ok.
So far I've got to Radio 1 In concert stuff;
Ruts
Penetration
Graham Parker
Vibrators
Radio Stars
Deaf Aids
Jags
Ian Dury
Cult
Toyah
Stranglers
Stranglers Peel
Will take a few hours, and am sure it's all out there already but what the hell.
I'm going take myself back to being 17 & enjoy.........................................
Listening to the Ruts gig and it is humming.
Malcolm Owen taken far too early.
& I think all my Stranglers gig tapes have already featured here many times over the years & had the magic of DP dusted over them so nothing new I fear.
Plenty others to go thru though.

Lovers of Outrage
She is the slave
Come into the open
Moving Targets
Nostalgia
When I'm dreaming
as it says on the box.

Cheers. I really meant is it a recording of a particular show. It would appear to be the one they originally recorded for the BBC 7th July 1979 at the Paris Theatre and broadcast that same month? That's out on CD and the track list is the same ('Moving Targets' is actually 'Movement' and 'When I'm Dreaming' is 'Free Money').Manc In Black wrote:On ReflectionPostby Rockula » 07 Nov 2015, 14:30

The original 1991 CD (split with The Ruts) didn't include the first track, 'On Reflection', but the 2015 re-release in the new box set does.
Anyway, what I was asking for is because I love the band and finding 'new' old recordings from the classic years is nigh on impossible. :)

Well Rockula, I'm pretty sure it is that gig, because that's where those broadcasts came from.Postby Rockula » 09 Nov 2015, 12:25

I taped it from the broadcast at the time.
as for the tracklisting we had no internet to check in those days, so that would've been what it sounded like.
If it's now properly released, will look out for it.
Some of those In Concert gigs were pretty ok at the time for such short sets.
Note the MiBs.
