Hope everyone spares a moment today to remember those who perished 10 years ago.

Indeed. I was quite close to Edgware Road when that bomb went off and a colleague of mine was injured.
I can't help getting old. I just refuse to grow up.

yes a very sombre and sad day i have been watching some of the tv programmes on this and you can see how it destroys the lives of everyone who lost someone

Yeah, sure does put things into perspective. The frightening thing is, it could so easily happen again.

This is true and not me trying to be funny..
In 1975 my Dad was working near Biddy Mulligan's pub in the Kilburn when the UDA bombed it. He was running an errand and was out of the area.
He was also on his way to work via Moorgate in 1975 and was on a tube about an hour before the tube crash that killed 43.
My wife was in a brass band and they did rehearsals for a show with the Royal Green Jackets in Hyde Park...just the day before the IRA bomb in 1982. She lost friends.
In 1987 I was working temporarily at King's Cross St Pancras station. On one of my days off there was a terrible fire and 31 people died....
In 1993 I worked in Bishopsgate.
St Ethelburga-the-Virgin Church is where I used to sit and eat my lunch.
But the office closed and I was transferred to Canary Wharf.
Later in 1993 there was the Bishopsgate bomb by the IRA.
There's still shrapnel in the walls of the church where the bench I used to sit was.
In 1995 I left Canary Wharf to work in offices just off Russell Square.
In 1996 there was the Canary Wharf bomb by the IRA.
I was ALSO in Manchester in 1996 three days before that IRA bomb.
In June 2005 I quit my job near Russell Square to become self-employed.
And 1 month later....
Every time there is a terrorist attack or major accident I feel for the victims and think to myself how many times a simple case of timing has saved me or members of my family.

Very poignant day. However much security you have, their is nothing to stop terrorists repeating the atrocity that happened in 2005.Thank god for our security services who have intercepted
at least 12 planned attacks this year alone. We are currently on the second highest alert status.

In my thoughts during the day in particular the 1 min silence (which some pricks talked through) - Makes any stresses in your day seem very insignificant

We had a minute silence on the bus on the way to work.

Re: 07/07 BOMBINGS 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Was on the other side of the pond when this was being observed, not unsurprisingly it didn't get a mention in the 'Land of the Free' as there were more people murdered in Orange County Florida that day.
I spared a thought, not only for those killed that day and their families and friends, but the countless other innocent people going about their daily business(as those in London were that morning) throughout the world killed and maimed on a daily basis by our own government on our behalf or by weapons sold by them.
