Docs For Life
Just bought some "docs for life" - Bit steep at £165 but hopefully worth it in the long run - Anyone got a pair and returned them for fixing?
If only I'd have done this when I got me first pair 28 years ago - woulda probably saved 1000s

Yeah Jim but how long will the leather upper part last, it's only the soles that are for life isn't it?

Hard to give up on an 'old' pair of Docs after having broken them in and becoming like a second skin.
Hated throwing away old pairs.
My last/current pair are a dream and rather than give up on them, I got them re-soled. Heavier type sole, but better than getting a brand new pair.
Love my DMs

Allow me to re-arrange your face, sometimes I'd really like to get to know you better

Re: Docs For Life
Good point depends on the quality of the leather... Most of my dm's uppers have started to give out around the same time as the treads.dead ringer wrote:Yeah Jim but how long will the leather upper part last, it's only the soles that are for life isn't it?
Thank you very much

Still got a mint new pair I bought @12 years ago, can't quite give up on the old faithfuls.

What an interesting concept. An item of footwear that's worn constantly? Bloody hell, I would save a fortune!
I've got some chloroform and handcuffs, just for you.

How about these, they're the ones that JJ used to wear in the late '70,s!

I still favour my French Army boots from Gerard Sene in Paris.
Had them about ten years now. No idea if he still does them anymore but very comfortable and durable.

Re: Docs For Life
Every time you send them back for a repair session they charge you a £20. 00 administration fee (non returnable) you also have to pay for your own postage and packing (this costs a lot due to their size and weight) So, any minor problems with split seames or stitching will cost you the £20. 00 admin fee plus £5.00 recorded postage.... Read the small print Jim in the contract... There's no such thing as a free lunch. I bought the better quality Vintage Originals £200. 00 and made in England.
Something better change!

Well aware of that Bernie. Send them back once and you're already in pocket
