Early songs like Jeremy and Alone are very good rocksongs - however the whole Seattle - grunge - rock scene was very overrated imho. Twenty years later, a handful of classic singles by PJ, Nirvana and Soundgarden and that's it.

I like them lots... especially the fact that you can get most of their gigs for the last 15 years as official bootlegs! Brill band! Couldn't get to see them in the summer, where they were doing 3-hour 40 track sets!

Me too, only got into them a few years ago. I met a very young music journalist around 2012, we talked about all things music (including the Stranglers) and he lent me all Pearl Jam's early albums. Last year he came back from a pilgrimage to Seattle (to see Pearl Jam) with DVD's he bought there, I borrowed them and ever since then I've been hooked.

Out of this 'Grunge' scene came one of my favourite tunes of all time... 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' 8)

My favourite band. Absolutely incredible live and their environmental and social political activism is to be lauded. More punk than many punk bands.
