STRANGLERS GIG OF THE YEAR Oxford was superb, though Triumph Live should be mentioned in despatches, mainly for the chance to hurl verbal abuse at those tedious precursors of the main event, Bumford and Sons, who should stick to being family butchers as their name would suggest.

STRANGLERS LIVE SONG OF THE YEAR A rather good Sewer at the above mentioned event

STRANGLERS EVENT OF THE YEAR Frome was a rather lacklustre gig but was preceded by the excitement and frustration of the horrors of the potentially explosive pencil case in the bank. One to look back on with amusement I think (I'm sure I've contracted a rash from that bloody river)

HUGH CORNWELL GIG OF THE YEAR Nothing much to write home about I'm afraid

HUGH CORNWELL LIVE SONG OF THE YEAR I get terribly excited by the opening Dam Busters theme and the whole thing tends to tail off from there to be honest

NON STRANGLERS/HUGH GIG OF YEAR I can't say I've been to one, though I did manage to catch a few windblown strains of Status Quo playing at a nearby festival, whilst putting the chickens to bed. Which was nice

STRANGLER of 2010 Who could place a hair between them?

TOP THREE ALBUMS OF 2010 Not darkened the doors of the record shop for many a long year.

FILM OF YEAR I did go to the cinema at least twice, though what to see I cannot recall. No wait....its all coming back to me, we saw the wonderful Toy Story 3 in the curious cinema in Ilfracombe, where you sit in a small room on leather armchairs seperated by small tables on which to rest a pint bought from the bar. All very agreeable

TV PROGRAMME OF 2010 Its actually the tv programme of 1974, but I welcomed the chance to see again the long awaited re run of Colditz. Wonderful escapism.

EVENT OF THE YEAR Happening (by chance) upon my hotel after nocturnal wanderings across much of Romney Marsh in something of a staggering gait after imbibing copiously at the wedding of a certain couple on here

GREATEST NOT STRANGLERS/HUGH BAND IN HISTORY EVER Abba, or Gustav Holst, was he in Abba? Sounds like he should have been

FORUMITE OF 2010 All those that keep reappearing under a thinly veiled non de plume, convinced that no one will notice. Keeps me endlessly amused
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

Honoured to get a mention in dispatches Baz - although that lunchtime session did go on until about 2am the following morning, with just a couple of hours off to see some band play in between

STRANGLERS GIG OF THE YEAR

Oxford for the cosy setting and excellent band/crowd banter - found out later that they didn't care much for this gig - oh well, each to their own
Closely followed by Paris - my first live Toiler 8) Of course, it was not expected, so when I realised what they were playing, I was just blown away - it made my night - and the whole of WB2 if I'm honest :P

STRANGLERS LIVE SONG OF THE YEAR

After the above, you may think I would say TOTS, but it has to be Genetix. Watching JJ's "bass-thumping" up close during the tour in March was a sight to behold. It was a shame that it was all toned-down for the recorded Hammersmith gig though. Jet's drumming on this one was, of course, also worth the entry fee alone. As good a stand in as Ian is, this is one song that has to be left to the master 8)

STRANGLERS EVENT OF THE YEAR

Triumph Live - as some of you well know, I had an absolute ball at this, my first outdoor Stranglers gig. Perhaps it was all that fresh air that caused certain "problems" later on in the evening

Mention must also be made to Wonky 2. Another fantastic trip to foreign shores, drinking their beer, disagreeing with their people (well, that one twunt at the hotel in Paris  ), and generally causing havoc in a far-off field. Also, the Leuven gig was followed by a punk/new wave "disco" - something not witnessed for many a year - a couple of hours of quality tunes and dancing like you've not seen since we were teenagers - made a nice change from being chucked out straight after the gig. Long may these sojourns continue and well done to Owen for his efforts 8)

HUGH CORNWELL GIG OF THE YEAR

Gloucester Guildhall

HUGH CORNWELL LIVE SONG OF THE YEAR

Within You or Without You

NON STRANGLERS/HUGH GIG OF YEAR

Killing Joke - Hammersmith

STRANGLER of 2010

All of 'em

TOP THREE ALBUMS OF 2010
1 Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent
2 Errrr - that's it.
3

FILM OF YEAR

The Deer Hunter.........well, I SAW it in 2010.

TV PROGRAMME OF 2010

The Apprentice, Spooks, Coronation Street

EVENT OF THE YEAR

The Frome (non) bomb scare. THE driest pre-gig meet up EVER, but it was tense and nerve-wracking, watching the events unfold before your very eyes.....kind of like actually being there (not just because I WAS there :!: ). The RavenLoony family's endeavours and escapades trying to get alcoholic supplies to us trapped souls outside the venue - braving the river (well, a small stream) to bring M&S wine to us while under constant threat of the faint possibility that someone had actually put explosives in their pencil case that day instead of.........pencils   The gig was then followed by a pub karaoke.... oh, and Dale did some "singing" too.....only joking mate, you were the best of the night

GREATEST NOT STRANGLERS/HUGH BAND IN HISTORY EVER

A dead heat between New Model Army and The Smiths...oh, and Morrissey...oh, and I quite like Killing Joke, and, and, and, and.....

FORUMITE OF 2010

Can't narrow it down to one, so in true TBC style....

Gizzard - for the lifts, the bootlegs, the CD burning and gig downloading, the putting up with me getting pissed at gigs and snoring (so he says  ) on the way home. Cheers pal.
TBC - for the controversy on here, but knowing that underneath he's means well  . Mutual Licky time ( :!:  ) - for being a top travelling companion and roomie on WB2.
Owen - for the website and for WB2 - and for next year's convention (slightly jumping ahead with the honours for 2010 though)
PiL - THE best host on the forum  and also coach compere
Jim - for the forum - say no more.
Rodders - for being Rodders, a thoroughly nice bloke - one of the best (and I mean that sincerely) 8)

Oh sod it, there's too many top forumites - that's enough licky . Love you all and Happy 2011.
Bring me a piece of my mummy, she was quite close to me........
