I really liked the Luxuria stuff. Particularly the second album where the lyrics are superb! For example:
"under the roofs and the gutters up above / even the sparrows are burning up with human love"
"once upon a time / once upon a turbine / flying the world / dying of girls"
and from the "Beast Box Is Dreaming" track (where the lyrics throughout are excellent:
"The replica at Disneyland
in the big exhibition hall
it's correct to the last nut and bolt
it's nothing like it at all.
if a pregnant woman touches it
the child will be shy
and if you glimpse it once
you eventually die."
Apart from "Secondhand Daylight", I think the "Beast Box" album is Devoto's finest work.
Also, I finally got "Jerky Versions of the Dream" on CD for Christmas, so will be giving that a spin for the first time in around ten years shortly.
