READING MATTER

Post by gizzard »

Currently reading-

'Hannibal Rising'. The new Thomas Harris novel and damn good it is too!

It's in the cinema next month also.

Will then get onto-

'Redemption Song' The Joe Strummer book.

Anyone read this?
''I THINK THE STRANGLERS ARE CRIMINALLY VULGAR, VIOLENT AND VORACIOUS, AND I OFTEN WONDER HOW THEY GET AWAY WITH IT.''

"The Google Story" by David A. Vise - very interesting insight into the formation, running and strategy behind the company.

Then moving onto "Moonraker" by one Mr. Ian Fleming.

Just finished Damned Utd about Cloughie at Leeds, very good it is as well.

Now onto Redemption Song, great so far, fine writing style.

Just finished a fascinating history of the Wall Of Death by Allan Ford & Nick Corble.
Just about to start the new (and long awaited) Bill Bryson.
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

After watching a documentaryover Xmas in which Edith Piaf claimed that her dramatic social ascent was due to her becoming well read, I decided my New Year' Resolution would be to broaden the mind with literature.
The children however, have had different ideas and bought me The Decadent Handbook for the modern libertine for Xmas. As soon as I've finished Belle de Jour The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl, I'll let you know how I got on.

Read Keith Floyds autobiography. Very interesting and humourous read, he has a very fine style of write indeed. Recommend it even if you're not interested in the guy.
If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.

Reading "A Dream of Wessex" by Christopher Priest - alternative SF kind of thing. Only just started it, but good so far. Published in the late 70s I think.
