Maryport - why?
Moderator: StanInBlack
Just booked 4 tickets, spoke to a very freindly lady and had a natter they are selling well, although they haven't been on sale long and she said it should be a sellout, there are plenty of tickets left at the moment though.
tickets are the £17 each, that is mentioned on the link above and refreshingly, that's all you pay, no extra charges (unless they're already included) you can use switch cards, postage is free and she said she'd send a little map of Maryport centre with the tickets.
all very nice and easy, the phone number is 01900 602122.

being a smallish type gig, I live in hope of meeting one of the band, if I do I will express concerns about the fiascos involving promotion and marketing. If I don't, then I will throw several copies of the excellent letter on the subject that paulinblack drafted up onto the stage.
does anyone think that is not a good idea?

Maryport is on the coast, about 37 miles from the junction 40 turnoff on the M6. It is a pleasant drive along the scenic A66, they sent me a map and Maryport civic hall is right in the centre of the town. In Maryport there is also a marina, a roman fort and museum, a river runs through the town and there are also steamship and maritime museums. The town hosts a blues festival. It does seem like a nice place and I take back what I wrote about it earlier!
Anyone going up (or down) could do worse than drop into Braithwaite (just off the A66, about 20 miles from Maryport) for a timely break. The pub in the centre does food and a very good pint, including the yummy 'jennings snecklifter'.
Can't bloody wait.
