Sheffield - Pre Gig Drinks - 25th March 2011

Post by jasonleefan »

We need to set off early for this gig as it is a 12 minute train journey from Chesterfield. So the Spiteite contingent will be propping the bar up in the Sheffield Tap bar, which can be accessed from Platform 1b on the railway station, from around 330pm so feel free to join us, they have 8 real ales on and about 200 choices of Lager from around the world so should find at least one drink you like !!!

its only a few minutes to walk to the Academy from this place so plenty of time to have a few before Wilko comes on.... I seen enough of Mr Marlin in first ten mins at Newcastle. Hope to see you there, all the best, Steve

That's grand organizational skills Steve, thanks from me at least, I might try and make that from Leeds.

Will John Sheridan be amongst your ranks?

He was near godlike status as a Leeds player and looks on course to be the same as your boss. Hope so. He couldn't be THAT great and be a Stranglers fan as well though could he, that would be too much

I interviewed him once too, for a book about ex Leeds players. Nice bloke, definitely 'one of the lads' :P

Looking unlikely that I'm gonna get there in time for Wilko's set  - See you in there.

If you ask me, The Chuckle Brothers should've been supporting this particular gig, as the home of 'chuckle, chuckle vi-sion' is just down the road..... in sunny exotic Rotherham! (Well ah gut'a fut o' vah stairs!)

OK Jim, see you at gig, we will stay in Tap till around 715 if you do manage to get in for a swift one. Perhaps the Chuckle Brothers should be opening the Gig, they better than Marlin or Starbase 109 any day.

Are the "brothers" still doing the Star Trek themed show?

That was back in 2009 Jim - 'Chuckle Trek: The Lost Generation'. I think their current show is 'Barry Potter'!

Clearly, improvement needed on my Chuckle Brothers knowledge.

Just checked the trains and I'm not gonna hit Sheffers until 7.45 which is a bit of a bugger. Gonna take some tinnies for the train *belch*. See you in there.
