I am actually meeting up with an old Navy mate of mine ( and Stranglers virgin!) at this gig, havent seen him for 27 years, so a few beers just might be the order of the day

I see your outstretched hand through the closing door
But it's a far better thing I do than I have done before
Re: Newcastle in March
Yeah I will be going just need to try and get a ticket without IMHO getting ripped off. There is a pub straight across the road from the venue, I can't remember what its called but Owen might......He is good at that sort of thing.Rodney Blackstaff wrote:Oh go on thenspen wrote:Is anyone off to this gig?

The Bodega, about 150 yards further up Westgate Road ... serves good range of Methane producing Real Ales and always
popular with pre-footie match crowd and 40+ year old crowds

Sorry Ian, not this time. I'd had a few drinks.NMH1965 wrote: There is a pub straight across the road from the venue, I can't remember what its called but Owen might......He is good at that sort of thing.
It was full of Toon fans though that night so maybe Pugfen can provide the name...
Did someone say "Wonky"?

The Star Inn Owen? See http://www.thestarinnnewcastle.co.uk/
I think the Toon were beating Villa 2-0 just up the road .... cue biting from Villa thread posters .... on the Monday night in Nov08 when Stranglers last at Academy .... practically the last time we beat anyone that season
Would still recommend The Bodega, one of my favourite Newcastle pubs, though unlikely they'll put on any pre-gig Stranglers sounds.
